My neighborhood is one of those that families drive to, to trick or treat in. Every house is stocked, ready for all the trick- or -treaters big and small young and old----yes old....I had 2 grandma's trick- or -treating.  They had their own bags, and no costumes. I counted 25 adults trick-or-treating,(without kids) Perhaps they missed out on their childhoods? anyway...they was a 15 minute time span where i COULD NOT shut my door because the line of kids never stop....and the line went from my from the street to my front door....and on to the next door like 40 kids deep for 15 min straight...by the end of the night i had 10 pieces of candy left...CRAZY!

on that note i will leave you with a couple photos of my not so spooky spooks.  Kennedy A.K.A Batgirl-is looking too hot to possibly be my daughter. I think i am going to have to lock her up next year. (not that she will be too happy about that)

A sure sign

This is a sure sign Maddy has been hanging out in my studio an awful lot lately....I am finding tattoo's she has drawn all over the place. In my suitcase, on the fridge, on my pillow, on the stairs, in the bathroom.This one was waiting for me on my computer last weekend when i came home...Gotta love a budding artiste!

Slice of Life.

I woke up this morning....feeling sick as a dog. Grumpy for it.  Sleepy. Overwhelmed, under energized.....Basically not feeling my game.  Fast forward an hour or two...time  for carpool. And everything changed. One look at my silly girl and her friend, my whole outlook was completely  changed....I mean who can have a bad day when you see this in your rear view mirror.

A glimpse

A glimpse into my daily life. On any given day(except the weeks I have deadlines) My house is filled with teenagers. I only have daughters mind you. Three of them.

My oldest daughter Kennedy is sixteen. It is normally her friends who are always at my house...no my house is not full of a bunch of girls....it is filled with a bunch of boys anywhere from 4to15 of them (usually more than less) at any one time...hungry,  growing, football, baseball, weightlifting boys....you know the kind that eat you out of house and home. The kind that call you Mom, and fall asleep on the couch. The kind that make me laugh, smile  and the kind that teach me a lesson every day on what it means to be a *mom*. They treat little miss Maddy like a little sister and Sophia...like a kid sis.                                                                          I have a huge 12' dining table that is almost always covered in some project or another....always. And when the boys come you can count on them to reach for the paper and big cans of prisma colors and spend hours drawing and talking....I love it...could an artsy momma feel any better?...Hey they have even sat at the table beading bracelets...it doesn't get any better than that.... The photo at the bottom of the post is one of my favorites... One of Kennedy's friends holding Maddy's hand...showing off the bracelets they made together.

In My rearview....

I see this every morning...of course not every morning am i taking photos in my rear view while stopped at a stoplight....The people next to me looked at me like i am nuts...WELL HELLO, I am! Nuts that is, I do scrapbook doesn't that make me just a little bit nutty... i am also nuts about these little cutie pies i drive to school every morning!  Are they cute or what...I can't believe the school year is almost over and soon they will be in first grade.

I hope you my lovely readers can stand one last posie picture. Maddy wanted to give these to her teacher today. I promise to take some photos of the other lovely things i have been making lately. I really do other things beside make flowers all day long. really. I just can't let a day go by with out making some new flowers with my AccuCut machine...I am addicted I tell you!

It's these moments that make my heart full.

The photo is dark...I know Maddy is a blurr in the bottom left corner. But this photo make me feel so peaceful, so at ease, and so happy with who Kennedy is becoming. I love to see her be able to relish the quiet ....and just be in the moment.

Perfect match

The other day Maddy and I were in the car on our way to meet Christine and Maddy was unusually quite...that silence lasted all of 2 minutes. She was deep in thought.

"Mommy?"

"Yes?"

" I think God must be a pretty strong guy"

"Really?...what makes you think god is a guy?"...leave it to me to push a button or two to make her think.

"Well if he made mountains and stuff, he has to be strong"

"Makes sense to me" I can't argue with that statement. It is a rather obvious explanation right?

"So, if god made everything, why did he make you?"

" Duh, mommy!!!!!" with a look that said i am a complete dork for asking. "I am a perfect match"

"Match for what?"

"You! ....Duh!"

How did kids get so smart anyways....And by the way Maddy you are right. You are a perfect match!

Where's my Genie in a bottle?

I need Aladdin's lamp , a Genie in a bottle...a fairy godmother, a bit of magic. Something.  I don't want three wishes...I just have one wish. I wish i could freeze time. Keep it right here....

I just dropped Maddy off at school today and I realized Kindergarten is almost over...only a few precious months left. With that realization came the thought, that i am not ready for Maddy to grow up. Time is going by too fast. I am not ready to give up the pink  Hello Kitty Back pack, pig tails, and  cute little jeans with ruffles on the ankles. I am not ready to give up that infectious giggle that only little girls have...i am not ready to give up holding hands while we walk to class.  I am not ready to give up that goodbye kiss that she gives me in front of all her friends. I am not ready to give up that shout for joy and the sound of her yelling Mommy! every single time I show up to pick her up when the day is over. All of these things were running through my head as i was driving home...a drive i do a zillion times a week.  It is a drive i don't even have to think about i have done it so many times....I was a block or two from home, waiting for the light to change when i glanced to my left and smiled at a young mother talking in the mirror to her baby. (I remember doing that...)  She smiled back, and looked at me quizzically. It was then i realized i had tears streaming down my cheeks. I had been so lost in thought I had no idea i was crying.

I am heading out this afternoon for some  girly time with Christine and her daughters...I am so looking forward to spending time being mommies. I plan to soak up every giggle... I plan to pay attention to every "look at me mommy" and every "watch what i can do!!!!"....because i don't think i do that enough... I do it allot. but not enough. Yes, i am bringing my camera of course, because i don't want to miss a thing. I will post photos later.

so back to my genie in a bottle, if anybody has one they are done with can they please send it on over....I really only have one wish.  I wish I could stop time and live in the here and now for a bit longer.
